Tips to Get Summer Ready

We are almost halfway through May already (I know where has the time gone!) and it is starting to feel a little bit like summer. With holidays just around the corner we are all looking for ways to get beach ready, so here are some handy tips to help you feel less bloated, improve your skin, your overall health, and help you reach your summer goals:

Eat Hydrating Foods

You know you should be drinking more water but you find it really tough to get it in or you keep forgetting but we aren’t specifically talking hydration here. Hydrating foods have a high water content such as watermelon, tomato, lettuce, melon etc. These foods are full of fibre, which will help keep the cravings away and they are rich in vitamins and antioxidants.

Probiotics and Prebiotics

Many people never suffer from gut issues and for those who do know all too well the huge benefits of taking probiotics and prebiotics. They are a great way of keeping your body running smooth and decreasing bloating. You can get some great supplements in any pharmacy that won’t break the bank but will have huge health benefits.

Be Realistic

The year is passing by and it was a long winter. Don’t be too hard on yourself if you feel a bit behind or are only getting started on your journey. Weight loss is not a race, after all it is your overall health that is the main goal. Every loss no matter how big or small is a win and that can sometimes be forgotten. Set goals and plan how you are going to achieve them, but also be flexible and kind to yourself around them.

Sleep

A basic human need that we very much neglect. We all need to physically sleep but what can often be forgotten is that the quality of sleep is massively important. Good quality sleep is just as important in your diet as what you eat (no, we are not exaggerating). When you have had a great night’s sleep you wake up feeling refreshed, your body has fully recovered, and it will be far easier to make healthy choices when you are not too tired to cook or plan your meals.
