Meals, breakfasts and snacks must be stored in the fridge below 4 degrees to ensure shelf life, quality and freshness.
Absolutely! Your meals can be frozen for up to 30 days. After that, we can not guarantee the quality of your meals. However, we don’t advise freezing your breakfasts or snacks.
When defrosting your meals, leave them in your fridge overnight for a natural defrost. Once they have thawed, you can heat and enjoy using the instructions on the package!
If you have allergies or there are certain foods you cannot eat for either medical or personal reasons we advise choosing our Menu Builder option available on each plan. This way you have full control over your own menu and can ensure you are receiving meals you can 100% enjoy.
We make every effort and use best practices to avoid cross-contamination, but we cannot guarantee that there won’t be any cross-contamination with your meals. General
Yes! Our packaging will keep things cool and fresh until you can get home. But do remember to place your meals in the refrigerator as soon as you get home!
Our box and our temp-guard are 100% cardboard and can be recycled in your recycle bin.
Our gel ice packs – recycle them by letting them defrost and emptying the contents down the sink and recycling the plastic outer bag. Or save them to be reused.
Our meal containers – Wash after use and dry and recycle in your standard recycle bin.
Our meals come in vacuum-sealed containers. Most of our vacuum sealed meals will last in the fridge for 7-10 days. How?
Easy. By using Industry Leading Packaging Technology. We use vacuum skin sealing polypropylene recyclable plastic to keep our ingredients fresh and flavoursome.
What does that mean?
This simply means our packaging keeps oxygen and any nasties out, making sure that your meals stay fresher for longer.
What are the advantages to our meal packaging :
Keeps Food Fresher Longer
The lack of air exposure allows for longer preservation and protection in the refrigerator.
Vacuum sealing preserves food by inhibiting the growth of mold, fungus, and bacteria.
Improves overall Taste & Flavor
Vacuum sealing locks in the moisture, marinades, seasoning, and flavor of the food.
Vacuum sealing removes nearly all of the oxygen, preventing chemical reactions triggered by oxygen that cause food to spoil. It prevents bacteria buildup that can spoilage in foods.
This method protects Food From Freezer Burn
Freezer burn occurs when air comes into contact with water crystals around food. Vacuum sealing helps prevent this by keeping the air out of contact with the food.
If you aren’t able to eat your meals by the “Use by” date on the package, you can throw them in the freezer to keep them for a further date and not waste them.
Vacuum sealed meals will last up to 3 months in the freezer.
Freezer burn is not a danger to your health, however, it ruins the taste and texture of the food.
You can put the cardboard box and brown insulation in your recycling bin. You can cut open your ice packs and pour the non-toxic water solution down your sink. Then, depending on your area, you can put the ice pack bags either in your recycling or rubbish bin. The black trays can be washed and then recycled, as can any clip on lids. The plastic film on top of your meals must be placed in the rubbish bin. Please double check these instructions against the information which you receive from your local bin collection company!
